The Longest Night (Act 3 - Guns)

"get that commander down" guns yells as he reloads quickly before leaning out and taking aim before firing his RPG again.

With a cool air about him Guns reloads the RPG-16, while fire from the GI's and paratroopers continue to ping around the T-72 tank missing the commander. He aims up the tanks flank armor, fire finally pierces into the tank commanders chest causing him to fall over the side of the hatch, bleeding over its thick armor. However before he gets the chance to fire the tank fires a round directly into the silo beside the soldiers. For a moment there is a heavy sound of concrete breaking as the round goes through - Then nothing. However then the explosion kicks in, tearing through inside the silo and somehow igniting more explosives that must of been within with a extremely loud "Boom" causing a ringing in all the troops ears a moment before the structure of the Silo begins to fall apart, cracking and shattering into dust as it begins to lean down and fall towards the tracks and the tank slightly right of it.

The rocket spins off impacting on a falling piece of debris and exploding safely from the tank, however the debris might as well have been the RPG for they begin to fall all around it and across the tracks as the enormous building impacts on the other silo, both of them beginning to crumble and fall now. As the tank begins to disappear under the earlier debris the rest also start falling over Guns and his unit, they break cover and run for it as the large blocks of cement fall around their ears. And then everything goes black for Guns.

You wake up with the sun on your face, laying in a large green grass field, so soft under you. As you raise you see a man, dressed in the uniform of the Australian Army polishing his Steyr. He smiles as he notices Guns move, "Ah your awake Guns." He moves over and offers a hand to Guns to help him up.

squinting slightly guns grabs the mans hand and is lifted to his feet, "where the f*ck am i" guns says as he looks across the expance of sundreched grassland around him.
rubbing his eyes for a moment guns looks towards the man who helped him "where are the ruskies, and how long have i been out" guns asks as he notices he lacks a rifle and that his right leg no longer hurts, a worried look spreading across his face. "and where the fuck did you come from" he exclaims with a look of suspision forming on his face as he reaches for his side arm

"Woa, easy there Guns." The Australian soldier smiles, then shakes his head. "Lifetime of war has made you rather trigger happy I see." He takes a deep breath and runs a hand across his youthful features. "You did good out there, you need to keep doing good. Remember, your Australian do us proud!" With that he gives a slight chuckle and turns and begins walking towards the sun, a wave dropping over his shoulder.

You feel lifted, somewhere someone shouts; "Guns! You need to GET UP!"

guns open his eyes and draws his pistol quickly yelling "just who the fuck are you!"

Jabbing pain reaches you. You hurt all over, your heads a mess, your vision blurred and someone is kneeling above you saying. "Guns, COME ON, we need to go!"

shakeing his head for a moment guns struggles to his feet disorientated. "what just happened" he asks as he leans heavily on the man next to him, his memory of the falling silo comming back slowly "the forrest?" he says questioningly as he looks about slowly trying to get his bearings "lead the way, im pritty f*cked up" guns says as he looks unfocustly at the man infornt of him

A man is on either side of you, taking one of your arms around their shoulders they begin to move fast, your legs struggle to find balance, everything is still a haze but you can feel the pour of rain now over your parka.

As Bear and his rangers approach the forest line once more, he sights a small group of allied soldiers, a pair of paratroopers from the 16, a pair of 5th division Infantry - Pilks and Vance and a Guns. The 5th division boys and Guns look worse for wear their uniforms covered in blood, muck and filth and one of the paratroopers has suffered a gunshot wound at one stage. Although conscious Guns barely able to stand and even Sergeant Sanchez has suffered a nasty wound on his right arm, the blood trickling off it in a steady flow.

Private Dickens of the 16 Air Assault Brigade, the wounded paratrooper moves to greet Bear once the groups meet up. "Orders from the Captain, set up a few hundred meters into the forest with sentries up in a concealed position. Password is Charlie Oscar Oscar Papa - Challenge everyone moving into the location, I need to get back to the Captain but Raker here will stay with this team. Can the Captain count on you?" He motions to the other Paratrooper "Raker" who carries his L85 over his back and two steel brief cases in both his hands.
