With trained ease the paratroopers move towards the sparse tree line again, Corporal Briggin's still drawing the AAT-52 along. As they reach the side of the forest once more the scene outside is chaotic, a unit of Russian soldiers and a BTR-80 patrols around the wrecks of the French VAB's, the tank that was on the tracks has somehow been crushed under the weight of the silos when they fell. The patrol group with the BTR about a two hundred meters away seem to have their focus on the wreck of the silos at the moment.

With a grunt Private Whitter hefts his RPG-69 and looks to Gunson; "I'm going to get close enough to crack that APC, want to give me a bit of a distraction and some covering fire from that Russian unit when I bail after, that is... If you don't mind me volunteering Captain." He gives a quick grin and nods to the AAT-52 in Briggin's possession. Briggin's checks the feed to the MG, magazines are sorted and fresh ones replaced with a couple extra magazines being offered to Captain Gunson by Briggin's who seems to have discarded his own rifle. "Yeah, lets take them out, I'm keen."

"Nice to have a volunteer. Get up there and crack that thing wide open."

Gunson announces to the rest of his men

"Give them covering fire men int he general direction."

Gunson swings round his L85 and starts unleashing controlled bursts.

The fire tracks into the Russian unit, the rifles bleeding dry by the time they finish taking out the soldiers including the single belt the AAT-52 had with it, however the APC had turned around.

Whitter does what he promised, his RPG-69 round impacts on the APC with a thunderous crack, tearing open the hull then exploding inside. The engine on the vehicle dies, the headlights going out and the ammo inside must of ignited as bright orange explosions chain within the vehicle, with the way clear allied units can be seen rushing into the forest line. More Russian vehicles and units can be seen in the distance, however they will not be in time to stop the allied men.

Shouting across the field to Whitter:

"Pull Back!"

deciding that he is now going to move to rally his scattered troops he turns to the few men at side

"Fresh mags men, we have another man in the field we're waiting on. I want one of you to gather the men heading for the forest line and have them gather in a well concealed position a few hundred meters to our rear. Make sure they have sentries placed out in the right locations and advise them password is Charlie Oscar Oscar Papa, I expect to be challenged when I enter the location. It's time we started doing this sh*t right, you know how this goes don't you." He winks at the Soldier a sly grin on his face "School those men if you have to! After they're harboured get back here and point."

Laughing to himself he turns back to monitor his arcs and await the return of Whitter and another of his men.

It is not long before Whitter returns to the position, his L85 slung over his back and the RPG-69 still in his possession, although panting the man seems fine. Before long Dickens returns, the wounded paratrooper that had been sent off to regroup allied units before; "Found a few of them, relayed the order. I reckon we got a couple more out in the field, but you wouldn't believe it.. Raker shows up with his L85 slung over his back and a bloody big steel case in either hand, thought we had lost him since we didn't see him since you sent him off looking for a rifle!" He gives a slight chuckle and then turns to shift off into the forest once more. "Going to keep looking."

Whitter goes to a knee, placing the RPG-69 onto the ground and taking out his L85 as he looks over the surrounding forest line. "Got one shot left, Captain."

Briggin's growls and kicks the AAT-52 after standing up, "Better then me, this things dry - Sorry, we needed the fire though!" He takes his L85 from his shoulder and loads a fresh clip into it.

Gunson laughs out loud "Not to worry Briggins, didn't think that old piece of junk would do much good for us anyway. Maybe we can hock it at a nearby town, see if we can grab ourselves a vehicle heh. I'm sure the locals wouldn't mind an armour penetrating weapon for protection." Gunson moves up to one knee, clipping his L85 back into it's sling he shifts it to his back "Hey Dickens you fool, get back here." He waits as the Soldier moves back to his location "Maybe you could show us where the rest of the troops are? Raker with them?"
Gunson stands and takes off the L85 handing it to Briggins "Take this piece of s**t and give it a nice home. When I ask for a rifle, I mean a rifle. That cr*p jams more than my grandmas preserve." Grabbing hold of his MP5K and ensuring its cocked and loaded "Dickens man, lets get a move on! Up and at 'em men."

With an affirming nod Dickens leads the small group ever onwards, Briggin's struggling as the machine gun catches on the dense vegetation every now and again.
